Start reading books by email! Each day you'll receive a 5-minute portion of a book. By the end of the week, you’ll have completed 2 to 3 chapters. If you like what you read, you can finish the book by checking it out from the NPL catalog. Each week will feature a new book. Sign up for as many free Book Club emails as you like.

 

Book Club Kits

The Norfolk Public Library provides book club kits that contain everything your book club needs to enjoy reading and discussing your next book. The book kits are currently available for check out at two library locations, Pretlow Anchor Branch Library and Little Creek Branch Library.

Each kit contains 10 copies of a book, discussion questions, author biography, and a book sign-up sheet for leader to keep track of the book.

Be an Illustrator

  • Introduction: For four weeks, a group of readers will come together to review a chapter of a new mystery and illustrate it to possibly publish online!

Be part of a book club and review a brand new mystery!

For four weeks, a small group of readers aged 6-13 will come together to review a chapter of a brand new book soon to be published. The readers will discuss the chapter and come up with a scene they would like to draw. Under the direction of a professional artist, they will try their hand at drawing the scene. Some drawings may be included in the book or on the website.  Don’t miss this opportunity!! 

*This is a multi-session program and attendees will need to be present for at least three of the four program dates.
